BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® Systems detect the presence of pathogen-specific nucleic acid in patient samples. Data from these diagnostic tests are anonymized, aggregated, and presented on the website for the purpose of informing healthcare professionals and the community regarding pathogen activity. BIOFIRE® test results from laboratories contributing to BIOFIRE® Trend are exported in near real-time. The collection process removes all protected health information and is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant as certified by expert determination. BIOFIRE® also complies with applicable data privacy laws with respect to its collection, processing, and use of information in connection with BIOFIRE® Trend. Detection rates for each pathogen detected by the BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® Gastrointestinal Panel and the BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® Respiratory Panel are displayed as a detection rate in a stacked area chart for the previous two years. Three week centered detection information is used to calculate pathogen detection rates.
